1848 Winery is proud to present ORIENT RED 2024 from its Fifth Generation series. This contemporary Mediterranean blend reflects the connection between grape varieties ideally suited to the Israeli climate and a modern, elegant, locally inspired winemaking philosophy.

The blend is composed of 37% Argaman, 36% Syrah, and 27% Marselan, creating a wine that is rich, juicy, and beautifully spiced, with a distinctly Mediterranean character.

Argaman, one of the varieties most closely associated with the Israeli wine industry, contributes deep color and intensity. Syrah adds depth, spice, and dark fruit character, while Marselan brings freshness, balance, and elegance. Together, these varieties create a blend that is unique, authentic, and unmistakably local.

ORIENT RED was crafted with the ambition of telling the story of the new Israeli wine. It is a wine that expresses the climate, raw materials, and Mediterranean identity that define modern Israel.

The wine reveals aromas of black fruits and Mediterranean herbs, supported by a juicy, balanced texture on the palate. Following fermentation, it was aged for 10 months in small French oak barrels, enhancing complexity and refinement while preserving its vibrant, fruit-driven character. The Fifth Generation series continues to showcase the distinctive and exciting side of Israeli wine, presenting wines with personality, accessibility, and a strong sense of place that connect Mediterranean cuisine, culture, and contemporary winemaking.
